I have heard this theory more than the "end of the world" theory and I have been doing some research...supposedly their are signes that mankind has already started developing something along the lines of telekinesis

Oh brother. Far too many people are caught up in psychic new age crap associated with this topic. This is only a visual allignment. It has happened many times on other days of the year with absolutely no amazing results. Get off of the pseudowebsites and get back to real life. hey fucks. whats up. its your friendly neighborhood juggalo and heres the dead, i mean deal....in 2012, or in the near future(the mayans were people too, prone to make mistakes)there will take place a new way of thinking. a new way of living. a new way of socializing. how this will happen and who will responsible is also very debatable, but it wont be the end thats what i do know. i dont have an aluminum foil hat,but, realize that from jesus birth until now represents roughly 2000 years, or an AGE. that being said the current age is coming to a close and a new is beginning. the last age was characterized by spirituality(age of pieces((for further info google procession of the equinox)), and the new age is characterized by technology and human evolution. Which stands to reason, because we are already seeing new technology and human advancement daily. I dont know about telekineses, but thats seems to be the only way we could evolve further.

The Message: Nearly two billion years ago, the Atman descended from Parabrahma Loka, the world of the Supreme God, to this world to experience the wonderful Creation of God, here. Just as we have the Spring season as the best of all seasons, so also the Satya Yuga is the best of all Yugas. One of the many cycles of the Four Yugas has closed recently and a new cycle has commenced from 14th April 1974. The earth and its inhabitants have once again entered the first and best of the Four Yugas.
The Rishis who are our Guides in our overall progress also help us by giving us the proper methods in our moral and Spiritual practices. There will be many earthquakes, volcanic eruptions in some parts of the world. New islands may appear and some known islands and coastal towns may disappear. i believe that it is a real huppening since the new era of Aquarious begin with 2012 that is the end of the world how we percept in this world, it is also the ascension and the change to the 4 dimension. i believe we will have many changes in the first 10 years after 2012

I don't think anyone will ever know what-the-heck will happen on 21 Dec. 2012, and worrying and preparing for an unknown event isn't going to do anyone any good when the time comes, will it?

As for what the Mayans believed, maybe some new communications device will be invented? Maybe everyone will use fiber-optics? Maybe good ol' Webster will make a dictionary that actually makes sense? Or maybe we'll all die of slaughtering torture, bombarded by meteors, volcanoes, solar flares, aliens, AND zombies?! Wow... almost sounds fun...
