Looking At The 'End Of Time' Logically

For the earth to be wiped out now, and not in 2012 would be illogical. Think about this- the Mayan calendar ends at 2012...does that mean the Maya believed it to be the 'end of time'? Not necessarily. Assume a largeasteroid(s) impacts the planet now. Wouldn't that mean the end of time ?
If the earth were to be destroyed now, it would mean no one would give care what day of the week it is, or what time it is. Who would care about time when water, eating and shelter become the most important problems to solve ? People would just care about surviving. Both cash and the stock market would quickly become a faded memory. If government collapses, so will the value of money. We will be resorting to the barter system. The end of time may be something that happens as the result of a time experiment as some have proposed. Or, perhaps an asteroid doesn't really hit until 2012. Some remote viewers have backed up the 2012 theory, because they see nothing but desolation after that time.

the myan's calendar has been correct for as long as its been around, same with nostroadamus and the aztec's. the only reason they chose the year 2012 is becasue an asteroid will not hit, nothing will happen except rising tension between the people and slow chaos.

How is that logical? Do you even know what logic is? No one knows for sure when the end of time will come. So what sense do you make to claim that it illogical to speak of the end of time now? Do you really believe that the Universe "logically" decides when the earth will be destroyed? Then you base your assertions on money? Are you for real?

the bible code makes two references in the book of revelations about an asteroid headed for earth, in the year 2012, one says it hit and the other says the hand of god swats it away. i am not possitive of the exact phrasing

It won't be "end of time" but "end of an age". Like the end of the horse & buggy age. The beginning of the information age. Face it, we don't see freeways full of horse drawn carts anymore. Something fundamental about the Human race is gonna change in 2012. The race itself won't go poof.

MAYBE THE REASON THE CALENDER ENDS ON 2012 IS BECAUSE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY OUT A CALENDER TO INFINITY. SO THEY JUST SO HAPPEN TO STOP ON 2012. :) LET IT GO..

I think it is highly possible 4 tha world to end in 2012 becuz the poler ice capsoles* are melting and our earth will most likly burn from drought or im thinking the fire in South California might spread across the united states and our nation might be destroyed...

So much speculation on December 21,2012 but we won't know until that day arrives what it will bring. I've watched all of the shows on it that flood the History Channel. Not even the scientists know what the outcome will be. They do know however, that the lines that cross between the sun and the earth are significant. What that means is a mystery for me. I do know that in the meanwhile, I will make my life count and live the best way I can. I will enjoy doing the things I like to do, enjoy my family, love life and if things come to a roaring halt, so be it. I've found it very interesting and like reading the different point of views. Death is inevitable and whether we like it or not, we will all get the visit from the death angel....eventually. Let us make the most of today, let tomorrow bring it's own problems. For sure you can count on that.

theres a lot thats going to happen in 2012( a few eclipses, a few pivotal elections, a few major realignments of government control worldwide....) and the asteroid coming 'close' to the earth... what we all fear is our own individual deaths and THAT is inevitable..it's just scarier to think of it happening in a calaclysmic way..like an extinction level impact event, or something really major that disrupts communications and transportation and our economic conduits...maybe it'll be nuclear, maybe it'll be the climate/environment, maybe it'll be a galactic event, or maybe, Jesus returns and we face the End of Time as humans have known it and we enter a new age of existence..like nothing man has dreamt of or has known before. ..the end of life is scary cuz we don't know what it's like..

ok let's assume that the mayan calendar prediction is right and there will be the end of the world/shift etc.
following the laws of physics, the world cannot "end" since that would be a huge destruction of energy. now ignorant metaphysicists may argue that there will be some for of cosmic intervention or force that brings about this change (thereby nullyfing the laws of physics)
so a metaphysical force will come and make this change
what happened to God?
is this God doing it?
why can't God stop it?
he is "all loving" so surely he'll stop it?

I've just recently begun to research the 2012 doomsday topic and I can't say that I am extremely impressed with the end of the world rumors myself. Before the Mayans created the long count, their calendar cycles lasted only 52 years. After 52 years the cycle would obviously restart. I think that this is similar to the situation in the present except that this time a set 5125 year cycle will come to an end, and will without fail, restart.

okay but pheonix you can not destroy or creat energy...its against the lews of thermal dynamics.....so how would the destruction of earth destroy energy because if you destroy earth you release the stored energy thats why you cant have negitive energy.... so if 2012 is the end of time or the end of the world then so be it.... it would just the destiny of earth and if the cycle of energy that would cause the earth to be destroyed has all ready been set in motion then there is no way to stop it.... its just a matter of time till it all comes to an end

I see it as, if there is a "large being" out there that controls our destiny, then I guess that large being should have the power to take it away. I know for the moment, I control my life and I know that many people say" Follow the book", and I do believe there is something/someone out there, but if it is the true loving GOD that is spoken so highly of, I feel that the he/she would want us to be happy, not slave away in a church and worry about "am I disappointing him". I am a Emergency rescuer, and in GODs eyes, I am creating a sin by preventing the inevitable. Well I am sorry but, saving a little helpless child from a accident or fire makes me feel like I have done good. And I am sure that the parents and everyone else that cares about that child feel the same way. I am not going to stand by and let an innocent child die becuase I want to "live by the book". And if that makes me selfish then I am guilty. Take me when you wish I have done my bidding.

For me it is simple. The calendar will start from the beggining. Just like that. It will be a new cycle. Why everytihng has to be distroyed? Is everithing distroyed on 31 december each year????
